Placeholder Construction Co. has been remodeling homes in Dothan and the surrounding Alabama communities since 2001 — 25 years of additions, kitchens and bathrooms for neighbors who mostly found us through the last job we finished down the street.
Our story
Built one referral at a time
Dana Placeholder started Placeholder Construction Co. in 2001 with a truck, a set of tools, and a simple rule: tell the homeowner the truth, even when the truth costs you the job. 25 years later that is still how the company runs.
We stayed deliberately small. We run a limited number of projects at a time so the same crew that starts your job is the crew that finishes it, and so the person who priced the work is the person who shows up when you have a question. You will not be handed off to a call centre or a salesperson who has never swung a hammer.

Six things we will not compromise on
Everything in writing
Line-item estimates, written allowances, and signed change orders. If it is not in writing, it is not part of the job — that protects you as much as it protects us.
We clean up daily
Floors protected, dust walls up before demolition, debris hauled instead of piled in your driveway for a month. You still live here while we work.
Permits in our name
We pull the permits and meet the inspectors. Any contractor asking you to pull your own permit is asking you to carry their liability.
Real schedules
Dated milestones you can plan a family around, and an honest phone call the moment something moves — not a week after you noticed.
We answer in year two
A written workmanship warranty and a phone number that still works after the final payment clears. Most of our work comes from people we finished for years ago.
Credentials
The paperwork, in the open
Ask any contractor for these three documents before you sign anything. Here are ours — and we will hand you current copies at the estimate appointment.
Licensed
A real contractor would show their Alabama licence number here, current and verifiable with the state board. This is a sample build, so no number is shown.
Insured
General liability plus workers’ compensation on every person on your property. We will have our carrier send a certificate directly to you.
Bonded
A surety bond on file, which gives you a route to recovery if a job is ever left unfinished. Rarely used, always worth having.

We work within about an hour of Dothan, AL — close enough that the crew is on site early and the owner can stop by the same day if something needs a decision. That covers Dothan, Enterprise and Ozark and the communities in between.
